About Cake Recipes Crown

What changed, and what it changed for you

When this site began, it was a messy collection of copied recipes with no rhyme or reason. The photos were blurry, the steps were inconsistent, and half the time the ingredients didn’t even add up. It was a hobby, not something people could trust.

Now, every recipe is built from scratch, tested in a real kitchen, and written to work the first time. The photos match the lighting, the steps are foolproof, and the ingredients are double-checked. You can open any page and know it’ll turn out.

The one that took years

The same cut, cooked properly

The biggest problem was that the recipes didn’t work. I’d copy them down, bake them, and half the time they’d turn out wrong—either too dry, too sweet, or just plain off. I thought it was my fault, but it wasn’t.

The original recipes were either missing steps or had ingredients that didn’t fit together.

It took years to fix because I kept thinking, *‘Maybe this one will work’*—and then it wouldn’t. I’d tweak a recipe, test it, and still end up with a disaster. The turning point came when I finally stopped copying and started building from scratch, adjusting every ingredient until it worked.

Now, every recipe costs time and effort—sometimes up to five attempts before it’s right. But the difference is worth it: you can trust that what you read will actually work when you try it.

I used to believe that cooking was all about following instructions perfectly. If a recipe said *‘bake for 30 minutes,’* I’d set a timer and never question it—even if the cake came out burnt.

I’d also assume that if a recipe worked for someone else, it would work for me, no matter how different our kitchens were.

The thing that went badly? I once spent an entire afternoon baking a wedding cake for a friend, only to realize halfway through decorating that I’d misread the frosting instructions. The whole thing had to be thrown out.

That’s when I decided to stop trusting recipes blindly and start testing them myself.

What changed: I stopped copying and started building.

Now, I run *Cake Recipes Crown* because I know how frustrating it is when a recipe doesn’t work. Every dish here is tested by hand, adjusted for real kitchens, and written to fit your table—not someone else’s.

My name is Corinne Ulmer, and this is where I make sure your baking turns out right.

What did not change

The core idea hasn’t shifted: this site is for people who want recipes that actually work, not just pretty pictures or fancy techniques. I still believe that great food should be accessible, not just for chefs or professional bakers.

The other thing that stayed the same? The love for real, handcrafted flavors. No shortcuts, no gimmicks—just dishes that taste like they were made with care, even if you’re just baking for yourself.

What is still being fixed

Right now, we’re working on adding more step-by-step photos for tricky techniques—like folding meringue or tempering chocolate—so even beginners can follow along without guessing. There’s also a backlog of reader-submitted recipes that need testing before they go live.

If you’ve got a recipe that works perfectly for you, or a technique you’d love to see broken down, let us know. The contact page is where to share your ideas.
